One of the best things about stretching is that it can be done anywhere, anytime. All you need is a few minutes and a bit of space to move around in. Here are a few simple stretches that you can do at home:
The hamstring stretch
This stretch is perfect for targeting the back of your thighs. To do it, stand with feet together and bend forward at the waist while keeping the spine straight; reach towards either ankles or toes – whichever you prefer (or if that’s too difficult then just focus on one). Hold this position 10-15 seconds before slowly releasing tension as soon thereafter possible
The quadriceps stretch
This great stretching exercise will really get those muscles in your front thighs toned. To do it, stand with one foot in front of the other and lunge forward while keeping yourself straight-backed ( maintain eye contact!). Reach for ankle or feet as needed then hold stretch 10-15 seconds before releasing
The shoulder stretch
This stretch is great for targeting your shoulders and upper back. To do it, stand with feet together while reaching arms overhead clapping hands tightly against each other or resting on a wall in front of you so that they don’t fly away from their body position throughout the hold period ( 10-15 seconds).
The chest stretch
Start this stretch by standing with your feet together and reaching out to each side, clasping hands around them. Hold for 10-15 seconds before slowly releasing tension from arms back down into normal position
