Create a Fitness Routine with Your Partner this February

February is the month of love, and what could be more loving than getting fit together as a couple? Working out with your partner can provide extra motivation to stick to your routine, keep you on track, and help you both achieve your fitness goals. Here are some tips for creating a fitness routine with your partner that will help you get in shape and have fun while doing it!

1. Find activities that you enjoy doing together.

Working out as a couple can be as simple as walking around the block or as intense as running a half marathon. It depends on what your fitness goals are and how much time you both have to commit to working out. Finding an activity you both like, will make it more likely for you to stick with it!

 2. Be honest.

If you both make fitness goals, be honest about what your goals are and how you plan to achieve them. Be supportive of each other’s strengths and challenges; talk about ways that you can encourage one another to reach your individual goals. For example, if he wants to gain muscle mass but she wants to lose weight, he can encourage her to eat healthily and she can help motivate him to get in the gym.

3. Make it a priority.

If you make fitness a priority, there is no excuse for not getting your workouts in. Schedule time into your schedule every week to work out. For example, if you work out on Monday night, all other activities have to be scheduled around that time. This will also help you budget your time and keep you accountable.

4. Swap massages.

When it comes to working out as a couple, post-workout can be just as important as getting into the gym in the first place. To relax the muscles after a workout, give each other a massage to improve your flexibility and reduce any muscle pain.

Strengthen your bond. When you work out together, not only are you getting fit, but you’re also improving the relationship between you and your partner. Not only do workouts provide a great way for couples to spend time together, but they can help relieve stress while strengthening the bond between you both.

The next time you’re feeling like your partner is dragging you down, remember that working out together can be a great way to motivate each other and reach your goals faster. Think about starting with something simple–you may find it’s easier than expected!
